Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated · July 10, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all content published, distributed, or transmitted through JOTMILL by creators, readers, and advertisers. By using JOTMILL you agree not to upload, publish, or distribute any content that violates this policy. This policy is enforced through a combination of automated detection and human review, described below.
1. Prohibited content
You may not create, upload, publish, distribute, or link to content that:
- Is illegal, or promotes, facilitates, or instructs others in illegal activity;
- Sexually exploits or endangers minors (CSAM), or depicts non-consensual sexual content;
- Contains pornographic or sexually explicit material outside of clearly permitted, age-gated categories;
- Promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or incites or glorifies violence against any person or group;
- Harasses, threatens, bullies, or promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity;
- Infringes the intellectual-property rights of others, including copyright, trademark, or trade-secret rights, or misappropriates another person's likeness;
- Is fraudulent, deceptive, or constitutes a scam, phishing, pyramid scheme, or misleading financial promotion;
- Distributes malware, spyware, or any code intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems;
- Advertises or facilitates the sale of regulated or prohibited goods and services (e.g. weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods);
- Constitutes spam, artificially amplified engagement, or unsolicited bulk messaging;
- Violates the privacy of others, including doxxing or publishing personal data without consent.
2. How we detect and remove violating content
JOTMILL enforces this policy programmatically and through human moderation:
- Automated scanning at publish. Every piece of content is automatically scanned before it can go live to readers, using automated content-moderation systems (including trusted third-party moderation services such as OpenAI's moderation API). Content flagged as likely violating is withheld from publication and routed to a human moderation review queue.
- Human moderation. Flagged content is reviewed by our moderation team, who can approve, request changes, or reject it. Rejected content is removed from public visibility and is permanently blocked from being published.
- User reporting. Any user can report content they believe violates this policy. Reports are triaged by administrators through the platform's report-management tools.
- Administrative removal. Administrators can remove or unpublish any content, and deactivate any account, at any time when a violation is identified.
3. Consequences of violations
Content that violates this policy is removed and blocked from republication. Accounts that repeatedly or severely violate this policy are subject to enforcement under our Repetitive Violators Policy, up to and including suspension and permanent termination.
4. Reporting a violation
If you encounter content that you believe violates this policy, use the in-product report action or contact our support team. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Continued use of JOTMILL after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
